First the good news: our grandson Jeffrey Morrison has just married Bailey Holland. We are sad to have missed the very first grandchild wedding, but I have included a few pictures below.
We have also been having a LOT of trouble logging in and "verifying" in the past few days and to be honest, as busy as we are I just about gave up on the blog! This is our mission "journal" so I changed some things with our account and I'm back online. I'll just do some pictures and say that the last two weeks have been super busy! Following the previous movement of missionaries around Cebu Island and the annual temple closure for upkeep and maintenance; the Cebu Temple was reopened and President Fernandez brought in all of the missionaries so they could attend the Temple. Lots of missionary movement along with the zone conferences that accompany each 6-week transfer period. And next week - it all begins again with 10 new missionaries coming to the Cebu mission! Every transfer ushers in 2-3 really busy weeks for us as we take care of apartment needs but it is all stuff I've said before, so I won't go into details. Here are some fun pictures:
The biggest news: Mr. and Mrs. Bailey & Jeffrey Morrison below
BELOW: the family at the wedding festivities. Left is Jeffo and right is Bailey, with the back row being Tyler, Jim (father of the groom), and Adam. Next row is Lahni, Audra (mom of the groom), and in the front the Matron of Honor Amelia, and their cousin Alexa. Handsome groom and gorgeous bride that love each other VERY much. In a day where many choose to live together instead of getting married, we are happy they chose marriage and the commitment that brings. Congrats Bailey and Jeffrey!!
BELOW: my very-own purple flowers that greet me every morning I walk into the mission office. In real life they actually look a little prettier, but they are unique in that they open new blooms EVERY morning, and then drop those blooms by the end of every day. I have watched closely thinking that they are like primroses in the US and just open and close..... but they are not! They actually drop the blooms every night and replenish every single morning. An amazing process that is actually kind of inspiring as they start every day fresh & new!
A gorgeous sunset that Elder Damstedt captured this week on a walk.
BELOW: Sis Fernandez decorating the mission office Christmas tree and it was the FIRST week in October! I told you they do Christmas here! It will be interesting to see the Primary children come trick-r-treating with a Christmas tree in the room. I even made a special Christmas tree skirt with "native" fabric. I'll include a picture of the finished product in the next blog entry.
BELOW: the office elders & Sis Beesley helping with the decorating process! Back row Elders Abiera (finishing his mission next week!) and Christofferson; Sis Beesley and Elder Harvey; and front row Elders Briones, Angoy, and San Ramon
BELOW: Another example of artwork everywhere. Frankly, big cities are ugly and dirty! It is obvious that somebody decided this ugly overpass was going to be "pretty" and this is only a small part of it; beautiful artwork in spite of the hundreds of ugly wires and the little hovels across the street. Pretty inspiring actually.
BELOW: How many Filipinos does it take to.......? We don't even know what they were trying to do; but there was several directing, several making sure the guy on the ladder was safe! Roy watched for a while, and it was fun!
We are happy and healthy and learn the love our Savior Jesus Christ more every day as we see how He blesses the lives of His children around the world. We also can't believe that 15 months of a 24-month mission have flown by! Love and Gods blessings to all!
